the messenger

In some native religions, the dragonfly is considered to be "the messenger". I have always had a special connection to dragonflies. As a child they were a source of wonder. Sometimes they were pets for a day and then let go. As an adult, like my gardens, they are a source of spiritual inspiration. Living in downtown Totonto, I feel especially connected to nature when I have dragonflies in my garden. It is a wonderful thing to see wildlife returning to such an extreme urban setting.
